With "Singularity of Art" as concept in this city Kyoto that has created innovation from tradition, we aspire to create a dynamic shift in art, a singularity, where artists will focus on a global market expanding their stages to the next dimension.

若手アーティストの活力に
「ARTISTS’ FAIR KYOTO」は、アーティストが企画から出品まで自ら行う、これまでの枠組みを超えたアートフェアとして2018年に誕生しました。重要文化財のホールや企業ビル等をエキセントリックな空間に設え、会場はアーティストと来場者のコミュニケーションが生み出す熱気で満たされます。
今回より新たにアドバイザリーボードに加わっていただいた方々をはじめ、国内外の第一線で活躍するアーティスト、そして、彼らの推薦を受け、あるいは公募により選出された新進若手アーティストたちが出展するこの取り組みは、2日間という限られた期間でありながら、多くの現代アート愛好家が訪れます。作品を理解いただき直接お届けするシステムが、若手アーティストにとって創作への刺激や活力となり、購入者とのご縁が続いていくことを願います。
会期中は、これまで本フェアに携わったアーティストたちのサテライト展示やアートアワードの実施、連携プログラムによるイベントなど、より満足いただけるフェアを目指し、皆様のご来場を心よりお待ちしています。
For the empowerment of the young artists
The ARTISTS’ FAIR KYOTO began in 2018 in Kyoto, as an unconventional art fair to fuel young artists where the artists themselves would take the handle from planning to exhibition. Set up in the hall of the Important Cultural Property and corporate buildings furnished into eccentric spaces, the venues are filled with energy created by the communication between artists and visitors. Many lovers of contemporary art will gather in the short period of two days during this event, in which domestically and internationally acclaimed artists, the young up-and-coming artists under their recommendation and those chosen through public application, and new faces of the advisory board will be exhibiting artwork. We hope that the system which allows for a deep understanding of the artwork and direct delivery, stimulates and motivates the young artists' creativity, and that the connection with their clients will continue on. By hosting satellite exhibitions by previously involved artists, art award, and events by collaborating programs, we strive to make the fair more satisfying, as we warmly await your visit.

ARTISTS’ FAIR KYOTO 2023

不思議なご縁や利他という感覚は、年齢を重ねるごとに心に染み入ってくるように感じます。今回で6回目となるARTISTS' FAIR KYOTOの会場には、新たに東本願寺の渉成園が加わる事となりました。1641年に創建された名園に点在する滴翠軒、臨池亭、縮遠亭などの見事な建物や庭園を舞台に作品が設置されます。私ごとで恐縮ですが、50年前廃墟のような東山キャンパスで芸大生活をスタートし、まず最初に初めたバイトが陶器への絵付でした。塀を乗り越えて10分ほど坂を登ればたくさんの陶房が並び、そこで主に担当したのが親鸞聖人誕生800年に供される記念品の壺の絵付でした。そして850年祭が催される本年、50年の時を超えてふたたびご縁をいただく事となりました。このプロジェクトに参加する若いアーティスト、熱いハートで支援をいただく多くの企業や京都府の方々、何よりも作品を購入いただくアートラバーズの方々と、早春の京都で50年という時を想像しながら、確かな未来に向けて共に歩みを進めたいと願っております。
It seems that the feeling of mysterious connections and altruism, has a deeper place in our hearts as we age. The Shosei-en Garden of Higashi Hongan-ji will be newly joining AFK's venues in its 6th edition. Artwork will be exhibited in the beautiful landscape and architecture including the Tekisui-ken, Rinchi-tei and Shukuen-tei, found all around the great garden founded in 1641. 50 years ago, I started my life as an art university student it the shabby Aoyama campus, and began my first part-time job of ceramics painting. 10 minutes up-hill from climbing the fence were many ceramics workshops, where I mainly painted memento pots that were to be given at the 800th year anniversary of Shinran's birth. This year the 850th anniversary ceremony will be held, at which I was blessed to be reconnected with after 50 years has passed. I hope to step into a strong future together with the young artists who will participate in the project, the many corporations and people of Kyoto Prefecture who support us with great enthusiasm, and of course the art lovers who buy the artwork, with the time of 50 years in my mind, in the early spring of Kyoto.

About Us
アーティストが企画、運営、出品する全く新しいスタイルのアートフェア「ARTISTS’ FAIR KYOTO」は、アーティスト自らが市場開拓を試みることで、新たな価値観を創造する目的でスタートしました。
観客とアーティストの交流が生む作品発表の場を新たにつくり出し、「アートを買う文化」が当たり前となることで、次世代のアーティストが創造性豊かに文化芸術発信を行える場を京都の地に創設します。
“ARTISTS’ FAIR KYOTO” is a completely new style of art fair that is planned, organized and showcased by the artists, which nurtures a new value by initiating the artists themselves in the market development process.
By creating a stage for presenting work upon the artist and audience’s relationship, and the natural culture of purchasing art, we aspire to construct in Kyoto a platform where our next generation of artists can creatively engage in cultural activities.
