堀江たくみ Takumi Horie

1988年大阪生まれ。2010年近畿大学卒業。2012年金沢美術工芸大学修了。
陶芸作家。陶器に自作のキャラクターや、落書きをモチーフにした絵付けを施した作品を主に製作している。主な展覧会に「堀江たくみの同人陶芸」（同タイトルで2022年ギャラリー数寄、芸宿、2023年NADiff a/p/a/r/tにて開催）。企画展として2023年「キャラセラミクス」新宿眼科画廊、2024年「堀江たくみ・高嶋英男二人展『見つめることで消えていく、離れることで現れてくる。』」金沢アートグミなど。
Born in Osaka in 1988. Graduated from Kindai University in 2010, and completed his master’s degree at the Kanazawa College of Art in 2012. Ceramic artist.
Horie primarily creates ceramic artwork, using his own characters and doodles as motif for the decorative painting.
Notable exhibitions include “Takumi Horie’s Dōjin Ceramics” (Gallery Suki in 2022, Geijyuku in 2022, and NADiff a/p/a/r/t in 2023).
As part of group exhibitions, he participated in “Character Ceramics” at the Shinjuku Ophthalmologist Gallery in 2023, and “Takumi Horie & Hideo Takashima: ‘What Disappears by Staring, What Appears by Stepping Away'” at Kanazawa Art Gummi in 2024.

Statement
自作のキャラクターや、Gペンを利用した落書きそのものを絵付けのモチーフとした陶芸作品を制作しています。表面に施される絵付けには、飄々とした「かわいい」雰囲気を出しつつ、かたちの面では、日本の陶芸表現と地続きになるように伝統・近代の形態を参考しながら、全体のバランスが面白くなるように意識しています。
I create ceramic work that uses my original characters, and doodles drawn with a G-pen, directly as motifs for the decorative painting. I pay attention to make the overall balance interesting, with the decorative painting on the surface eluding a carefree kawaii aura, while with the shape itself, referring to traditional and contemporary forms to be in continuation with Japanese ceramic expressions.

堀江たくみと会ったのは、金沢の「キタイッサカ」というアトリエ兼シェアハウスだった。
その住人には、陶芸作家やアート関係者がいる。他にも多様なアーティストが出入りするごくローカルな、家族のような距離感のそのコミュニティに関わる人は皆、じっくりと醸造されている。
キャラクターを扱った陶芸作品である堀江の作品群は、見るほどに腹落ちを簡単には提供しない独特な魅力がある。それは、真摯な制作と生活の中でごく自然に出会ってきたことから生まれている。

It was the atelier and share house named Kitaissaka in Kanazawa, where I met Takumi Horie.
Its residents include ceramics artists and art-related people. All the people involved in this local community with a family-like relation, where various other artists also come and go, are brewed with time and care.
Horie’s artwork of ceramics that address characters, have a unique draw that doesn’t easily offer understanding however much you look at it. This comes from his natural encounters with sincere creation within his daily life.
