1997年東京都生まれ。2025年京都市立芸術大学美術研究科美術専攻彫刻修了。
生活と収集と消失を軸に制作。
近年の主な展覧会：2025年京都芸術センター開設２５周年記念展「そのへんにあるもの」、2024年神戸六甲ミーツアートbeyond2024など。
Born in Tokyo in 1997.
Completed master’s degree of sculpture from Kyoto City University of Arts in 2025. Okada’s practice is centered around daily life, collecting and disappearance. Recent exhibitions include Kyoto Art Center 25th Anniversary Exhibition “Things Around There” (2025, Kyoto Art Center, Kyoto) and “Kobe Rokko Meets Art beyond 2024” (2024, Mt. Rokko, Hyogo).

Statement
生活の周辺にある、どこか忘れ去られそうになっている、そんなものをあつめています。
あつめて手元に置くような行為は、普遍的であるものの消失や変化までのスピードを一時停止させたり、道筋を変えることかもしれません。
そんな時、よりはっきりと実感するものの存在性やものと人の関係性を探る行為を立体物や映像、印刷物によって作品にしています。
忘れ去られそうなものたちは、どこかわたしたちに似ている気がしているのです。
I collect things that lie around our daily lives, that seem to be on the verge of being forgotten.
The action of collecting and keeping things at hand, might be something that pauses the speed towards the universal rule of disappearance or transformation, or that changes the course.
I turn these actions of investigating the relationship between an object and person, or the existence of an object strongly felt through such moments, into artwork using sculpture, video and printed materials.
Objects that are on the verge of being forgotten, feel somewhat similar to humans ourselves.

Mayumi Okada says
I have a habit of hoarding.
By keeping collected items, I can return to the time of collecting it.
I keep things as a memory device.
Things have no rank nor meaning, but I keep things that other people probably won’t keep.
I don’t keep things for anyone, the point is in keeping.
I want to choose vaguely.
According to Mayumi Okada, the world is made of ambiguous things that nobody notices.
