辻大輝 Daiki Tsuji

2001年生まれ。滋賀県大津市出身。京都市を拠点に活動。京都精華大学大学院芸術研究科映像領域在籍。
情報が正しく伝わらないときに浮かび上がるコミュニケーションの困難さや、ズレを通して他者と関わるあり方をテーマに、集団演技的なパフォーマンスとビデオ・インスタレーションを組み合わせた作品を制作している。
主な展覧会に、2023年「侵色：開始」（京都精華大学ギャラリー Terra-S）、2024年「生き続けるもの」（瑞雲庵・京都）、個展「空の体たち」（hatobaギャラリー・京都）などがある。
Born in Ōtsu, Shiga Prefecture in 2001. Based in Kyoto. Currently enrolled in the Graduate School of Art at Kyoto Seika University, majoring in the field of Video and Media Arts.
Daiki creates works that combine ensemble-style performances and video installations, exploring themes such as the difficulties of communication that emerge when information is not accurately conveyed, and the ways in which we relate to others through dissonance and misalignment.
Major exhibitions include “Shinshok Vol.1” (Gallery Terra-S, Kyoto Seika University, 2023), “We Live in My Mind” (Zuiun-an, Kyoto, 2024), and solo exhibition “The Empty Bodies” (hatoba gallery, Kyoto, 2024).

Statement
社会のデジタル化が進むなかで、デジタル表示のような断続的な判断が浸透しているように感じています。ガイドラインは社会を円滑に動かす一方で、人と人の間に存在する認知のズレや多様性を許容しにくくし、グラデーションが失われつつあるのではないでしょうか。私は作品制作において、他者の参加やマルチチャンネルビデオの利用を通じて、そうしたズレを視覚化することで、理解しきれなさを前提とした共存の形を探っています。
I feel that an intermittent judgement, like digital displays, is becoming ingrained as society becomes increasingly digitalised. While guidelines help smoothly operate society, I also feel they make it difficult to tolerate diversity and the differences in perception that exist between people, as if we are losing the gradation. I explore forms of coexistence on the assumption of non-understanding, by vizualising these differences through the use of mutli-channel video and collaborative approaches in my practice.

自身の身体・自我・他者という普遍的なテーマを、ビデオ・インスタレーションを用いて意欲的かつ挑戦的な方法で発表している。今を生きる「人」としての実直で繊細な彼の目線は、ふと私たちを丸裸の心の状態に戻し、自己を見つめ直すささやかなきっかけを与えてくれる。AFKではどんなアプローチをするのか、私としても非常に楽しみである。

Tsuji presents the universal themes of the own body, the consciousness, and others, with enthusiasm and challenging methods through video installations. His sincere and sensitive perspective as a person living in the present, brings our hearts back to a stark-naked state, giving us a subtle opportunity to re-examine the self. I am greatly excited to see what kind of approach he brings to AFK.
