笹岡由梨子 Yuriko Sasaoka

大阪府出身。映像の中にある絵画との接点を探るべく、絵画における手の痕跡や筆致と近似した、高性能な CG 映像にはない異物感や違和感を引き出し、独自のストーリーを紡ぐ。そして、緻密な構成や物語とともに、どこか懐かしい、けれど誰も見たことのない独特の世界観をリアルに感じさせる。また、2017年に参加した北マケドニア共和国でのアーティスト・イン・レジデンスで人の温かさ、心の豊かさにカルチャーショックを覚え、以降はアジアに最も近いヨーロッパ世界のリアルな人々、暮らし、歴史に関心を深め、中央・東欧諸国のリサーチや発表を重ねている。現在、関西を拠点に活動。
Born in Osaka. Sasaoka weaves original stories that investigate where painting intersects within video media, drawing out the senses of discomfort and awkwardness that do not exist in high quality CG imagery, that resemble traces of the hand or brushwork in paintings. With a meticulous structure and narrative, her work elicits a reality in her unique worldview, that is somewhat nostalgic but yet to be seen by humanity. Since participating in the artist residency in the Republic of North Macedonia and experiencing a culture shock towards the warmth of the people and richness of their spirits, Sasaoka has had a deepened interest towards the real people, lifestyle and history of the European world closest to Asia, and has been conducting research and presentations on Central and Eastern European countries. Currently based in Kansai.
