1996年大阪府生まれ。2021年京都造形芸術大学大学院修了。主な活動に岩渕貞哉審査員特別賞「NONIO ART WAVE AWARD 2020」、入選「シェル美術賞」（2020/ 国立新美術館 / 東京）、ART021 SHANHAI CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR 2021　( Gene Gallery/ 上海 )、主な個展に「肌が触れ合う際に発生する斥力について」( 2021/ PAGIC Gallery/ 東京 )など。

Born 1996 in Osaka, Japan. 2021 Completed graduate studies at Kyoto University of the Arts. Statement

既存の絵画のフォーマットを利用して現代を生きる我々にとってアートとは何なのかを熟考する。絵具だけでなく洋服の端切れや内装タイル、写真など様々な経緯で集められたマテリアルを組み合わせ、それらの関係性を再構築することによって画面を構成している。この関係性は人と人、アート、社会など画面の外側に存在する目に見えない関係性を想起させる。

Using existing formats of painting, he contemplates what art means to us living in the present age. He combines not only paints but also scraps of clothing, interior tiles, photographs, and other materials collected from various sources, and reconstructs the relationship between them to compose his paintings. This relationship evokes invisible relations between people, art, and society that exist outside of the picture plane.

新は絵画について考えることによりそれに現れてくる事象と彼なりの現代性というものをつなげ探求している。近作はタイルをフォーマットに布の切れ端や写真などをコラージュし画面を構成している。それらはタイル張りの壁をフォーマルな形に置き換えることにより日常から切り離された何か別のものに置き換えること、置き換え可能なものであることを気がつかせてくれる作家である。

Shin explores and connects his own version of modernity to the phenomena that appear when he thinks of paintings. In recent works he composes screens by collaging scraps of cloth and photographs, using tiles as the format. He is an artist who lets us realise that tiled walls are replaceable with other things separated from ordinary life, by replacing it into something formal.
