An exhibition by Kenryou Gu, an artist who uses photography expansively as a device, using his somatic senses in the city space as an axis, for compressing and converting compiled data. The venue Senmaruya is an old yuba shop that has continued for over 200 years since its foundation in 1804. The old factory space that was previously in use (now operating in Nishikyogoku) will be used to exhibit his artwork. Enjoy the collaboration between Senmaruya, who protected and nurtured the yuba culture of Kyoto, and Kenryou Gu. Kenryou Gu

Born in 1994, Kyoto, grew up in Shanghai. Graduate of Kyoto University of the Arts (formerly Kyoto University of Art and Design), Contemporary Art and Photography course. He studied abroad at the Ecole nationale superieure de la photographie d'Arles as an undergraduate student. Currently based in Kyoto. He understands the somatic senses that he gains from travelling as a field that landscapes are compiled onto, then uses photography expansively as a device for converting and rebuilding the gathered data. He presents the unknown contexts that hide in the background of information, with his original method of weaving time and space.
