Statement

自分を取り巻く「環境」と、それを感じる「身体」が、一つの流体として一体感を得たときに沸き起こる感動や心地よさを一つの世界として、日本画の画材を用いて絵画で表現している。
描かれるものである「図」と、描かれなかったことで背景として想像される「地」の相互関係を曖昧に表現することや、秩序を崩すことで地が図にもなり、図が地にもなるような流動性を持った世界を表現したい。

I express the excitement and comfort that arises when the environment that surrounds me and the body that feels this environment, are united as one fluid world in my paintings using Japanese painting materials.
I wish to express a world with fluidity in which the image, that which is painted, and the ground, that which is imagined as a background because it was not painted, are ambiguously interrelated, and the ground becomes image and the image becomes ground, by disrupting the order.

森が「地」としている背景は、現世界であり自己を取り巻く社会（＝環境）そのものである。「図」として書かれる人物や植物は、森自身でもあり森が見つめる他者でもある。それらは時にそれぞれの立場や役割を逆転させ、「地」が「図」になり、「図」が「地」になる。森の絵画は、現世と常世の境目をあいまいにしながら世界が常に可変的であることを教えてくれるのだ。

The background that Mori calls the ground, is the real world – the society (environment) that surrounds the self. The people and plants depicted as images, are Mori herself and also the people Mori observes. These sometime reverse roles and positions, where ground becomes image, and image becomes ground. Mori’s paintings teach us that the world is always impermanent, by blurring the border between this world and the other world.
