石田成弘 Narihiro Ishida

石田成弘は2000年生まれ、大阪府出身。現在、京都芸術大学大学院美術工芸領域油画専攻在学中。「欠落」をテーマに主に平面作品を制作している。学部生の頃は、自分や友人をモチーフに描いてきたが、現在はモチーフを決めずに線の表現を試みている。日常生活を送る上で様々な情報をキャッチするが、それらは欠落しているように見える。欠落を復元し新たなイメージが混ざり再構築した絵画制作を行う。
Narihiro Ishida was born in 2000 in Osaka, Japan. He is currently enrolled in Kyoto University of Arts, Graduate School, Fine and Applied Arts Field, majoring in oil painting.
He mainly creates two-dimensional works on the theme of “missing”. When he was an undergraduate student, he used himself and his friends as motifs for his paintings, but now he is experimenting with line expression without specific motifs. In his daily life, he catches different information, but they seem to be missing something. He creates paintings in which the missing information is restored, and new images are mixed and reconstructed.

Statement
「欠落」をテーマに制作を行なっている。
日常生活を送る上で様々な情報をキャッチしそれについて思考する。
思考をやめまた次の情報について思考し、行き来する。様々な情報は娯楽などのくだらないことから社会情勢、個人の思想についてなどだ。それらの情報は沈んだり、半透明になったり小さくなったりする。私は認識が難しくなり欠落しているかのように見える。その欠落を再構成し作品へと昇華する。
The theme of my work is “missing”.
In our daily lives, we catch a variety of information and think about it.
We stop thinking and start thinking about the next piece of information, and we go back and forth. The information can be about trivial things such as entertainment, social situations, or personal thoughts. The information becomes submerged, translucent, and small. I find it difficult be cognisant and it seems to be missing. I reconstruct the missing and sublimate it into a work of art.

石田の作品は一見すると何が描かれているのかわからない。ドローイングのような素早い筆致で描かれたそれらは“正しい”像を結ぶことはない。ただし、彼には常に明確な像が存在している。鑑賞者と彼の間にあるイメージ生成過程の乖離が、わからなさを解消しようとする私たちの想像への積極性を促す。彼の言う“欠落した絵画”とは、このような自己と他者の埋まることのない認識や知覚の裂け目を明らかにするものではないだろうか。

At first look, one cannot tell what is depicted in Ishida’s painting. Painted with fast brushstrokes like in drawings, they do not form a “correct” image. However, to him a clear image always exists. This distance in the process of image-generation between him and the viewer, provokes an activeness in our imagination to relieve the unknown. What he calls “missing paintings”, may perhaps be things that reveal the unclosing breaches of cognition and perception between oneself and others.
