米山舞 Mai Yoneyama

1988年長野県生まれ。長野県出身。
イラストレーターとして活躍する傍ら、アニメーターとしてもCMやMVなどで印象的な作品を発表している。精力的に個展を行う中で最新技術を探し出し、デジタルイラストレーションの可能性を常に模索している。2019年には初個展となる「SHE」、2021年には個展「EGO」、2023年には個展「EYE」を開催し、自身が手掛けたアニメーション映像展示をはじめ、LED作品、インスタレーション、シルクスクリーンやメインとなる大型レリーフ作品など、多岐に渡る出力に挑戦した新たな作品を公開している。

Born 1988 in Nagano prefecture, Japan. Yoneyama is well known both in and outside of Japan as an illustrator and animator.
In addition to her illustration work, she has created impressive work as an animator for commercials and music videos.
In her enigmatic solo exhibitions, she utilizes state-of-the-art technology to trailblaze into the future of digital illustration.

Yoneyama’s first solo exhibition “SHE” was held in 2019, followed by “EGO” in 2021 and most recently “EYE” in 2023.
In each, she has continued to challenge herself with new mediums including but not limited to animated videos, LED pieces, installations, silkscreening and large relief works that serve as the focus of her exhibitions.

Statement

瞬間の連続”や”モーメント”を描くことで、そのあやふやなひとつひとつが重なって形になっていく。
それをアニメーションというかたちで表現することが、自分にとってリアリティであり”生きる”ということと感じている。

By depicting certain moments and how they intersect, vague concepts overlap and take shape into something more.
For me, expressing this through animation is a form of reality, and a proof of existence.

Mai Yoneyama is an illustrator of outstanding skill in drawing, famous worldwide with a following of over 1.16 million on social media.
Although her works are mainly in the realms of animation and illustration, her forms of expression are expanding left and right transcending any boundaries.
She is the advent of an absolute existence easily destroying the box of “art that references subculture”, and stands firm.
