Statement
空間にあらゆる日常の物事に潜む記号、思い出、感情を素材として表し、自身や他者の体験や記憶、又は空間そのものがもつ記憶をベースに、版画、映像や、音・空間を用いた作品を制作している。
Expressing symbols, memories, and emotions found in everyday objects and events as materials within a space, I draw inspiration from personal and shared experiences, memories, or the inherent memories within the space itself, to produce pieces through mediums like printmaking, visual media, and incorporating sound or spatial elements.

2018年に越後妻有、2020年に塩田千春氏の推薦でAFKにデビューしている。サイトスペシフィックでコンセプチュアルな劉の作風が、京都新聞地下の騒然とした空間でどのような静謐さを構築するのか大いに期待している。タフな挑戦になるとは思うが、混沌と混乱の現代世界が抱える問題に、彼の理知的な世界が有効である事を多くの人に体験してもらいたい。アートは問いであると常々言い続けているが、問いに反応するには脳内から雑事を追い払い、静かに作品に向かい合う方法の確立が欠かせない。彼の作品から、概念をコミッションするようなコレクションが始まる事を期待したい。

He debuted in 2018 with Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale, and in 2020 with AFK under Chiharu Shiota’s recommendation. I anticipate what serenity Liu’s site-specific and conceptual style will construct, in the turbulent space underground of Kyoto Shimbun. Though I think it will be a tough challenge, I wish for many people to experience that his intellectual world is effective, against the problems of the chaotic and confused modern world. I continue to advocate that art is questioning, and it is crucial to establish a way of facing a piece quietly, removing noise from the brain to respond to a question. I have hopes for a collection that commissions concepts, begins from his artwork.
