Statement
「漫画表現の絵画化」を研究テーマに、漫画で描かれたキャラクターのような登場人物と油 彩で 写実的に描かれた風景という異なるふたつの表現方法が交錯する作品のあり方を探る。
I explore how my artwork can be at the intersection of two different modes of expression, under a research theme of “manga expressions as paintings”, with characters depicted like those in manga, and realistic landscapes depicted with oil paints.

徳永葵の作品は、「漫画表現の絵画化」をテーマにした油彩画である。
紙に線描きで描かれた漫画風のキャラクターが自然の風景の中に取り入れられた作品は、徳永独自の世界を表現している。折れ曲がることで紙の平面性を強調して漫画である事を意識させたキャラクターが筆触のある油絵の具で写実的に描かれた風景の中に存在する交錯した世界は、見る者を「漫画の概念」と「絵画の概念」揺さぶりを掛け徳永の絵画世界に引き入れる。

Aoi Tokunaga creates oil paintings with the theme of “manga expressions as paintings”.
Her work with manga-like characters drawn with line-on-paper captured inside natural scenes, expresses Tokunaga’s unique world. The world in which the characters that make us conscious that they are from manga by emphasising the flatness of paper with fold marks, exists inside a realistic landscape depicted with oil paints and have the texture of brushwork, inviting the viewer into Tokunaga’s paintings by challenging their concepts of manga and concepts of paintings.
