やなぎみわ Miwa Yanagi

神戸市生まれ。1990年代半ばより「エレーベーターガール」「マイグランドマザーズ」「フェアリーテイル」など、女性をテーマにした写真シリーズを制作。
2009年第53回ベネチア・ビエンナーレ日本館代表。
2011年から本格的に演劇活動を始め『ゼロ・アワー 東京ローズ最後のテープ』アメリカ・カナダツアー、また2016年より台湾製の移動舞台車を使った野外劇を全国で巡演している。2019年、新作の写真作品を中心に美術館個展「神話機械」が巡回。
2021年、台湾オペラ「アフロディーテ〜阿婆蘭〜」を作演出、台灣文化局主催で高雄市の野外劇場にて公演した。
Born in Kobe City. Since the mid-1990s, she has produced female-themed photo series such as “Elevator Girl,” “My Grandmothers,” and “Fairy Tail.”
In 2009, she represented the Japan Pavilion at the 53rd Venice Biennale.
From 2011 she started directing on stage.
2015 “Zero Hour Tokyo Rose Last Tape” US/Canada tour.
Since 2016, she has been touring the country with an open-air caravan theater using a Taiwan-made mobile stage car.
In 2019, she toured the museum with her solo exhibition “Myth Machine”. She presented a new photographic work and a mechanical performance.
In 2021, she wrote and directed the Taiwanese opera “Aphrodite”. It was staged at an outdoor theater in Kaohsiung, sponsored by Taiwan’s Department of Cultural Affairs.
