渋谷七奈 Nana Shibuya
Profile
1994年、宮城県生まれ。東北芸術工科大学大学院芸術総合領域修士課程修了。大学院を修了後、山形を拠点に活動を行う。2015年シェル美術大賞展保坂健二朗賞受賞、ART AWARD TOKYO MARUNOUCHI 2019 加藤泉賞受賞。2018年個展「dope man」を山形で開催。2017年 佐藤国際文化育英財団 第27期奨学生、2018年 クマ財団２期生。
Born in Miyagi, 1994. 2019, received M.F.A from Tohoku University of Art & Design (TUAD), Comprehensive Art Department. Based in Yamagata. Main awards and exhibitions include “Shell Art Award 2015″ Kenjiro Hosaka Prize, “ART AWARD TOKYO MARUNOUCHI 2019″ Izumi Kato Prize, and her solo exhibition “dope man” held in Yamagata 2018. Shibuya is a 2017 SATOH International Foundation 26th Term student, and 2018 KUMA Foundation scholarship student.

Statement
人の生き方に正解はなく、それぞれが自身の解釈や感覚で世界を捉えながらも生活を共にしている。そこではお互いがぶつかり合う事、認め合う事で互いの感覚の歪みを解消していくのではないかと感じている。人間の精神性とそれらを取り巻く社会について獣や人体の変容として描き絵画、ドローイング、空間表現を行なっている。
There is no right or wrong answer to the way people live their lives, and we live together while perceiving the world according to our own interpretations and feelings. I feel that by confronting and acknowledging each other, we can resolve the distortions in our senses. I depict the human mentality and the society that surrounds it, as the transformation of animals and the human body in paintings, drawings and spatial expressions.

渋谷さんの作品を見たのは、２年前に開催された「アートアワード東京」でした。一見、今風で地味な絵だったけれど、線に魅力を感じました。そして１年経って最近の作品を見せてもらいました。

I saw Shibuya’s work two years ago at the Art Award Tokyo. Her drawings were modern and discrete at first sight, but I was attracted to her use of lines. A year later she showed me her recent work.
Her lines were planned out, but they were carefree. To be honest I was envious that she could draw such lines. I think that is enough of a reason to recommend her.
