1997年三重県生まれ。2021年京都芸術大学(旧名称: 京都造形芸術大学)大学院芸術研究科修士課程芸術専攻美術工芸領域油画分野修了。個展に、2018年「そこに或るは真実か」京都造形芸術大学ギャルリ・オーブ

Born in Mie, 1997. Master of Fine Arts, Kyoto University of the Arts (former Kyoto University of Art and Design), 2021.
His solo exhibition “Is there truth?” at the Galerie Aube of Kyoto University of Art and Design was held in 2018.

Statement

　私はモチーフの持つ形態や色彩などの特徴を絵具に変換し、一筆ずつひたすら繰り返し描く。すると画面からは形態が少しずつ消え、絵具の塊が画面に現れる。
　連続する行為によって抽象化されたイメージは、形態や色彩から生じる特徴を消失させる。
　鑑賞者は、画面に残る情報を手がかりとして実態を求めてさまよい、描かれたイメージに思考を巡らせる。

I convert the characteristics of a motif, such as the form and color, into paint, and paint them one stroke at a time. Then, the form gradually disappears, and a mass of paint appears on the screen.
An image abstracted by consecutive actions, eliminates the characteristics that emerge from form and color.
The viewer reflects on the depicted image, seeking for the truth with the information remaining on the screen as a clue.

藤本作品の魅力は、その繊細な弱さにある。
　一見すると画面を構成する要素は少なくシンプルなものに見えるが、それらは慎重に選択、配され、それぞれ似た要素が持つ微細な差異がその間に細かな振動を発生させている。
　その細かな震えは、瞬間的な衝撃を持つ強さにはない、持続的かつ消えることのない余韻を観る者の身体に与え続ける。

The delicate vulnerability makes Fujimoto’s work mesmerising.
Though it seems at first that the elements which compose his screen are sparse and simple, they have been carefully selected and placed, and the minute differences of each of the similar elements create small vibrations.
These small vibrations, give a continuous and lasting linger to the viewer, that an intensity with instant impact does not have.
