Statement
“HAPPY” と名付けられたつかの間のせつなさは、記憶という見えない曖昧さのなかに漂っている
どこで切り取り、どの部分を再生するのか
経験したはずの感覚や記憶の断片を増幅し、その意味や印象を再構築しながら
曖昧な未来の大きな不安に向かって楽観的にドローイングする私がいる
“Happiness” is a momentary transience, floating in vague memories.
What to select, and what to play?
Amplifying the feelings of past experiences and fragments of memories, I reconstruct the meaning and images of happiness.
I stand drawing optimistically while confronting the large anxiety of the vague future.

もしも今、「旅が似合う人は？」と聞かれたら、私は「油野さん」と答えたい。彼女から受け取ったメモには「小さかった頃の自分がいつも側にいて、なりたかった自分を今の自分に融合させている。」と書かれていた。彼女は、儚さの痕跡、人間の欲望、叶えたい理想、豊かさと社会の成長の意義を旅から持ち帰る。私たちは、しばしば人生においてこの世界があやうく壊れやすいものであることを宿命的に経験する。今まさに必要とされるのは、例えば彼女が造り出す、過去の記憶と未来の余白に紐づけされた想像力としての「旅」なのだろう。

If someone was to ask me now, who suits the word ‘journey’ the most, I want to answer Yuno. In a note that she gave me, it read “a childhood version of myself is always next to me, and I’m merging who I wanted to be, to what I am now”. She brings back traces of the transient, human desires, wishful ideals, fullness, and the meaning of social growth from her journeys. We sometimes fatefully experience, that in our lives this world can be easily broken. What we are in need of now, is like the journey, as an imagination connected to past memories and the unwritten future, that her work creates.
