STATEMENT
ひねくれ者だと気づいたのが遅すぎた為、人としての軌道は修正不可能であったが、そんな荒ぶるひねくれ魂を上手く消化してくれるのがアートである。全てのひねくれ者は表現をすべきで、アートを選択すべきだ。
そんな自由で素晴らしいアートだが、評価を下すのが一般市民では無い為に身内ネタになりがちである。
そうである事の崇高さも素晴らしいが、何の感想も持たずに展示会場を去る鑑賞者を見すぎた事もあり、どの様な 鑑賞者にもメッセージがダイレクトに伝わり、同じ土俵で語り合える作品制作を目指す。
人々が共通認識として持つ普遍的なテーマやモチーフを選択し、そこにシニカルな要素を加える事で、親近感のある違和感を生む事出来る。
その変幻自在な工夫こそがアートなのではないかと思う。
Because it was too late for me to realise that I was a twisted person, it was impossible to bring myself on track, however, art digests well such twisted minds. All those who are twisted, should choose to express, and opt for art.
So, art is carefree and awesome, but it can easily become just an in-joke as it is not the public that decides its value.
That may be the sublime and wonderful side of things, but as I see so many viewers leaving an exhibition with no particular impression, I wish to create work with a message that will directly reach its viewer, and where people can engage in conversation on the same level.
By selecting a universal theme or motif that people have as a common understanding, then adding cynical factors, it is possible to create familiar discomforts.
I believe that this ever-changing possibility is art itself.

ネズミと王冠、ハトと厚底ブーツ、黒ヤギとポスト、シャケと木彫りのプーさんなどアイデアとイメージが豊富で、社会や制度に対するアンチテーゼをユニークに表現する田村琢郎。環境やコンテクストをうまく取り込み、挑発的で大胆な表現を直観的に次々と決行して欲しい。ニューヨーク、ロンドンで美容師として二年ほど働いた後、美大を受験するという経緯も意表を突いている。

Takuro Tamura uniquely expresses the antitheses of society and systems with his abundant ideas and images, such as the mouse and crown, pigeons wearing platform shoes, the black goat and post box, salmon and wooden pooh-bear. I hope that he will continue to instinctively perform his provocative and audacious expressions that cleverly incorporate the environment and context. He also has an interesting background of experiencing two years as a hairdresser in New York and London before entering art university.
