STATEMENT
私はドローイングをもとに、作品制作をしています。光・生命・音楽・キャンディー。もし、旅をするなら、私の絵を“風の通る部屋”へ連れて行ってほしい。
それは、ケーキと少し似てる。食べるとふわっとスポンジ生地やなめらかなクリーム、もしかしたらナッツや果物が入っているかもしれない。パリッ、ふわっ、とろっ、ぐにゅ。きっとおいしくて、やみつきになるはず。
I create my works based on drawings. Light, life, music and candy. If my paintings are to travel, I hope they will be taken to a “well-ventilated room”.
It is somehow similar to a cake. The soft sponge and smooth cream in your mouth, and maybe there are nuts or fruits too. Crispy, puffy, creamy, squishy. So tasty, that it will surely win your heart.

中村萌は大学院修了展の超大作によって耳目を集める存在となった。その作品は絵の具そのものが絵の具である事から解放されて、パティシエの手になる最高のスイーツのように振る舞うという不思議な画面を持ち、誰もがその複雑で光に満ちた地形の虜になってしまうのである。すべての絵の具も装飾も美術史や意味という重荷から解放されて底抜けに幸福なのである。この大作は現在京都信用金庫のコレクションとなり、重要な会議をそっと見守る女神となっている。

Moe Nakamura has received much attention with her monumental painting at the Degree Show. In the painting, paint is relieved from the fact that it is paint, to hold a mysterious face like a confectionery created by the hands of a pâtissier, captivating everybody with its complex and gleaming landform. Each and every paint and decoration is free of the burdens of art history and meaning, and is bottomlessly happy. This painting is a part of the Kyoto Shinkin Bank’s collection, as a goddess quietly watching over important meetings.
