「AIR賀茂なす」は京都五条大宮の町家の2Fにオープンした新しいアーティスト・イン・レジデンスです。2020年春より年間4組のアーティスト(3組海外、1組国内)を招致し、各作家約1ヶ月の滞在制作と展示を行います。この度、ARTISTS’ FAIR KYOTO　2020に合わせた特別企画としてアーティストの品川亮氏の個展を開催致します。

品川亮（しながわ・りょう）
1987年生まれ。2016年 京都造形芸術大学大学院 芸術表現領域修了。アジアを中心にバーゼル、ニューヨークなどで作品を発表。日本の絵画を現代にアップデートすべく作品制作を行う。

GOLD, WHITE, AND BLACK

An exhibition of Ryo Shinagawa will be held as a feature program of ARTISTS’ FAIR KYOTO 2020. What is the true shape of Japanese paintings, interrupted by Nihonga (“Japanese-style” paintings) which developed under the contemporary system, that we Japanese should be questioning? A valuable occasion in Kyoto by an artist who bears the truth, and continues to question it.

Ryo Shinagawa
Born in 1987. Graduated from the Design Graduate School of Art Expression at Kyoto University of Art and Design, 2016. With Asia as the focus, he presented his works at Basel and New York. In order to reconsider “Japanese Painting”, which was temporally stopped, he is working on his own projects.
