1994年神奈川県生まれ。2019年　京都造形芸術大学大学院芸術専攻ペインティング領域修了。受賞歴に『アートアワードトーキョー丸の内2019』フランス大使館賞。個展に2019年medel gallery shu(東京)『山本捷平個展　What is the “entity”』
”実体とは”をテーマに絵画を制作。自作のローラーを用いて新体制を伴いながら絵具をアナログに反復させる。

Born in Kanagawa, 1994. Graduated from Kyoto University of Art and Design, graduate with a focus in painting 2019. Awards include “Art Award Tokyo Marunouchi 2019 (Tokyo)” The Embassy of France in Japan prize. Solo exhibitions include Medel gallery shu (Tokyo) “Shohei Yamamoto solo exhibition What is the “entity””.

The theme of my paintings is “what is the entity?”. I use rollers I’ve made to create repetition with paint in an analogue way, while maintaining its physicality.

STATEMENT

芸術におけるオリジナルと複製、虚と実の関係は時代を超えて論じられてきたテーマだが、デジタルデータの複製が日常的になった今日、その議論をいかに発展させられるか。急速な情報化によりアイデンティティが曖昧になっている現代において”実体とはなにか”について考える。

While the relationship between originality vs. duplication, real vs. virtual, has been questioned timelessly, how will it be possible to further this debate today, where digital data is regularly reproduced?
I question what entity really is, and what it means in relation to the modern identity that has been rendered ambiguous, by the accelerated flood of information.

山本作品の特徴として、まず、起点となるイメージを描き、それを自作のローラーを用いて、
一回性により、反復させる。これは、安易なイメージの「コピー、ペースト」ではなく、山本作品の場合は、偶然性や、物質、身体性を伴う。反復された１つの「カタチ」は、逸脱し、重なり合い、
物質から生まれるノイズを伴いながら、変成イメージを召喚させる。
それは、まるで呪術の如く、私たちの視触覚を刺激する。
