南大輔 / Daisuke Minami
PROFILE
1980年京都市生まれ。2004年関西大学社会学部卒業。2005年ごろから大学の美術部仲間と匿名表現グループ「emeraldclitoris」を結成し、自分達と同じように現実世界に居場所のない孤独な若者に向けた哀歌としてフリーペーパー「月刊メリス」を発刊し、一般素人目線での自由な展覧会批評や文字・ビジュアル表現を行う。他にも自身が長年愛し続けるぬいぐるみを擬人化し写真に収める活動や近年は展覧会のポスターやチラシのデザインも行う。

Born in Kyoto in 1980. Graduated from the Faculty of Sociology, Kansai University in 2004. From around 2005, he formed an anonymous expression group “emeraldclitoris” with a colleague from the art department at university, and published a free paper “Monthly Meris” as an elegy to the lonely young people who like them, do not have a place in the real world, with freely written exhibition criticism, and text and visual expressions from an amateur perspective. Other activities include anthropomorphizing and taking photos of stuffed animal toys that he has loved for many years, and recently he designs posters and flyers for exhibitions.

STATEMENT
私は美術を学んでおらず、まっとうな美術表現の道を進むことをと志してはいません。私は報われることのない日々をひたむきに生きる、凝り固まった文脈の外側にいる人に向けて、アマチュアリズムに則ってこれまで表現物を作って来ましたし、これからも作り続けたいです。
I haven’t studied art and am not aspiring to go on the path of artistic expression. I’ve been making expressions in accordance with amateurism, and want to continue this way for those who are outside of the inflexible hard-working context, living in unrewarding days.
TESTIMONIAL
有料のアプリケーションを使わずに活動する変態的なグラフィックデザイナーでもあり、zineの発行や、エメラルド・クリトリスとしてライブを行うなど、独自の活動を続けている。見る人、語る人でありながら作る人であるという、ある意味で現代的なスタンスであるが、複雑に絡まり合った自意識から生み出される異形に魅力がある。
