STATEMENT

絵画や写真作品をはじめ、回転するオブジェや、空間を利用したトロンプ・ルイユ（Trompe-l’œil、騙し絵）的なインスタレーション作品などを制作しています。

僕の制作の根底にあるのは、人と目の前にある事物との関係の中でおこる認識の“誤認”についてです。認識されているものと本来の事物とにズレが生じるとき、もとあったものの意味や存在が転倒し、そのズレは周りの世界を巻き込んで、世界を多視化するための入り口になる。

I create paintings, photography and trompe-l’oeil-like installations that utilise rotating objects and space.

The cognitive errors that occur between a person and an affair in front of their eyes are the basis of my artwork. When there is a gap between the actual thing and what is understood from it, the original meaning and existence collapse; the gap engulfs the world around it and becomes an entrance to see the world from multiple viewpoints.

TESTIMONIAL

小宮は、「人間が生み出した虚構性こそが絵画の魅力」と語る。絵画的空間性と絵画の表層の関係に着目しつつ、空虚を組み上げる。
そして、「もの」の「イメージの危うさと、揺らぎ」について、実体と虚体の相互セカイの「間」について探求している作家である。
小宮の代表的な作品に、「vanitas」があるが、この作品は、一見、何事も起こっていないかのように見える静物の一部分は、実は、高速で回転しているという作品である。これは、元の静物の実体を超越して、視覚的に触れ得ない、つかめきれない状態を提示し、私たちが見ているセカイの認識と、根源的なセカイの認識のズレそのものを生成するのである。それは、まるで、実体を獲得した亡霊のようであり、私たちが見ることもできない世界を繋ぐ扉となる。

Komiya states that “”the fantasy that humans create is what makes paintings so attractive””. He constructs a fiction by focusing on the relationship between the spatial qualities of paintings and its surface.
He is an artist who pursues the uncertainty and vagueness of images an object possesses, and the gap of the reciprocal world of entity and imaginary.
“”vanitas”” is one of Komiya’s most famous pieces; at a glance it seems as if nothing is happening in the still life, however, parts of it is in fact spinning rapidly. It presents an unperceivable state that we cannot comprehend visually, surpassing the substance of the original still life; it formulates the gap between the idea of our perceived world and the primordial world. It is like a ghost that has possessed a body, and becomes a door that connects to a world that we cannot even see.
