STATEMENT

今回の作品は、視覚から得られた情報を簡略化したモチーフで構成されています。現場でのスケッチにとどまらず、記憶や写真、デジタル媒体でのドローイング、さらには自作の立体物など、幅広い対象が基となり、様々なモチーフへと簡略化されます。簡略化の方法は作品によって様々です。それではなぜ簡略化するのか。それは、現実の対象が備える膨大な量の情報を削ぎ落すことで、初めて際立つものがあるからです。それらを拾い上げ、画面を通じて最大限まで放出するために、簡略化という過程は方法的に不可欠なのです。
　もし百年後まで残り、未来の鑑定士によって百年という遠い過去に作られたことが立証されたとしても、なおも決して古びてしまうことなく、新たな時代の人びとに寄り添い続けていられるような絵画を私も描きたいです。

These works consist of simplified motifs based visual information. Various subjects apart from on-site drawings, such as memories, photographs, digital-drawings and sculptures I have made are simplified into motifs. The method of simplification varies depending on the work. Why is simplification necessary? This is because there are things which can be seen, only by reducing the huge volume of raw information objects have in reality. To pick up and expose this to its full potential thorough the screen, simplification is an indispensable process.
I want to make paintings that will live beyond a hundred years. Suppose that my painting is to be assessed in the future, that it was created a hundred years ago; it would be my greatest pleasure, if despite its age, my work never gets old and encourages people of the new generation.

Ishihara creates fluid and beautiful paintings; they show off a sense of freshness. The two-dimensional space spreads over the canvas, and the colours create Ishihara’s world.
Always committing to inspiration, Ishihara’s works present a determination to devote to paintings in this age.
The prayer in Ishihara’s words “”Suppose that my painting is to be assessed in the future, that it was created a hundred years ago; it would be my greatest pleasure, if despite its age, my work never gets old and encourages people of the new generation.”” are always an inspiration to me.
