TESTIMONIAL
黒宮菜菜の作品は絵画表面の絵肌の「滲み」と「暈かし」を特徴としている。当初のアルミ板に油絵具と溶剤による表現から徐々に進化してきており、アクリル板に油絵具、石膏下地に油絵具へと変化して来ている。最近作では和紙に染料による「暈かし」「滲み」を加えて黒宮独自の絵画表現を深めている。モチーフに用いられる人体のイメージと絵画表面の独特の平面性とのせめぎ合いから生まれる緊張感が黒宮独自の絵画世界を確立したと行っても良いと言える。

西太志君の作品は一言で言えば、モノクロで描かれた冒険少年の夢の様な探検を、物語風に描いた絵画作品です。ゴヤに影響されたと言う「黒い絵画表現」を通して、自身の現実の状況を切り取り、夢の物語との距離を深く考えようとしている意識が感じられます。
近年、「アートアワードトーキョー」グランプリ受賞や「シェル美術賞」入選など評価も高まって来ており、今後の活躍が大いに期待できる若手作家です。

Nana Kuromiya’s paintings may be characterised by the bleeding and blurs on her surface. Gradually evolving from her original expression of using oil paint and solvent on aluminium sheets, she has shifted through using oil paint on acrylic sheet, to oil paint on a plaster base. In her recent work in which she uses dyes on traditional Japanese paper to add the bleeding and blurs, she has a deepened her original painting expression. The tension created from the conflict between the motif – the image of the human body, and the two-dimensional quality of paintings is what has helped create Kuromiya’s characteristic world in her paintings.

Taishi Nishi’s works are narrative paintings that depict in monochrome the fairytale expeditions of an adventure boy. In his black paintings, inspired by Francisco Goya, lies his conscience in attempting to confront the distance of fairytales by clipping out situations from his reality. He is recently gaining appraisal, being awarded the Grand Prix at art award tokyo marunouchi, and being selected for the Shell Art Award; a young artist with much future to expect from.
